Healthcare Management Administrators (HMA) member cards reissued

Provider networks

As a wholly owned subsidiary of The Regence Group, Healthcare Management Administrators (HMA) uses the Regence preferred provider networks in Washington and Oregon. Collectively branded as the "HMA Preferred Network," this entity includes access to the Regence BlueShield Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Participating networks and the Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon (Regence BCBSO) Preferred Provider Plan and Participating networks.

Member card changes

Historically, HMA member cards included references to Regence and HMA Preferred networks on the front of the card. HMA will transition to consistent branding for these networks in 2009 by reissuing member cards with the following:

The front of the member card will include only the reference to HMA Preferred in the upper right corner. (This re-branding does not change the networks that are included.)

The back of the member card will summarize the networks and include information for obtaining benefits and submitting claims.

Note: If the employer group is using a network not listed above, the member card will include the logo of the carrier that is being used and information about that provider network.

HMA, in business since 1986, is a third-party administrator providing benefit administration to approximately 120 self-funded employers primarily located in Oregon and Washington. Additional information, such as member benefits, the status of submitted claims and a provider directory, is available by selecting the Provider Services Portal link on HMA's Web site.
