Regence wins King County account
We're pleased to announce that Regence BlueShield has been awarded a five-year contract to administer the KingCareSM plan for King County effective Jan. 1, 2012. With 23,000 new members, King County will become our second-largest group in Washington.
After an exhaustive year-long bid process, King County made the decision to change benefits administrator from Aetna to Regence based on their thorough evaluation of total cost savings. The county's third party consulting firm completed a detailed network analysis that demonstrated Regence will provide millions of dollars in savings annually for the County.
"We are gratified that King County recognized Regence's ability to deliver an extensive provider network and tens of millions of dollars in savings for their employees and, ultimately, the county's citizens," says Chris Gorey, vice president of Sales for Regence BlueShield. "And we are excited by the potential of our partnership with King County to drive positive change for healthcare in the Puget Sound region."
