Regence announces Employee ChoiceSM for groups of 1 to 50 employees
 Employee Choice is a new concept in product offerings that allows small employers to offer affordable health coverage while giving employees the choice they want. It promotes employee satisfaction and retention and encourages consumerism.
Beginning Oct. 1, 2011, you can quote our new Employee Choice offering for Jan. 1, 2012, effective dates. Employee Choice is a simplified product portfolio that offers a wide range of options for groups of 1 to 50. Employers can offer their employees a choice of up to 10 configurations of our popular Regence Innova® and Regence HSA Healthplan 2.0SM plan types.
Employee Choice is a defined-contribution offering. The employer determines how much to contribute toward their employee health plan (existing minimum contribution requirements apply). If they so desire, employees can "buy up" to a richer plan configuration through payroll deduction.
There's no price difference between plans inside and outside the Employee Choice portfolio. That means it doesn't cost employers any more to offer a choice.
Employee Choice at a glance
- Plan options consist of seven Innova configurations and three Regence HSA Healthplan 2.0 configurations.
- Employers choose from two to 10 of these set benefit plans.
- Employers choose one pharmacy option to apply to all Innova configurations selected. They can also select one dental option to apply to all configurations offered. Any riders selected will apply to all configurations where applicable.
- Employees then select the plan design that best meets their needs.
Variety in benefit options has traditionally been available only through larger employers. Employee Choice makes a competitive benefit package affordable and manageable for small employers.
