myRegence.com offers more ways to empower members
Our goal is to help our members make better informed choices. We do this by providing transparency regarding the cost and quality of health care. The first transparency tools were introduced on myRegence.com in 2007. There have been a total of seven upgrades since then, each providing our members with a better user experience and more valuable information for making health care decisions.
We're proud to announce the successful launch of another upgrade—new functionality that provides cost estimates for more than 50 common treatments. We've also added new provider affiliation information and comparison with near-by facilities, along with data on how many of our members use which facilities.
Additional detail about each of these enhancements is provided below:
- Provider facility affiliation: Now when members are getting an estimate, they can see which hospitals and clinics providers are affiliated with. Members may still need to call the provider to confirm admitting privileges or find out if the provider can perform a particular service at a specific facility.
- Side-by-side facility cost estimates: Members can easily compare out-of-pocket costs based on their particular benefits. They can also evaluate how much they would pay out of pocket at different locations.
- Number of patients for selected procedure: In order to choose a facility with more experience treating a particular condition, members can see how many Regence members have received a specific treatment at a chosen clinic or hospital.
In tribute to our Treatment Cost Estimator Tool, later this month, we'll be accepting an Information Management Symposium "People's Choice" Information Innovation Award, which recognizes significant business value or innovation in a proven information-based solution.
