National Nutrition Month 2011
The theme for March 2011 is "Eat Right with Color."
Each March the American Dietetic Association promotes National Nutrition Month®, an education and information campaign that focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.
Good nutrition is of vital importance to our health. We can reduce the risk of certain illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and certain cancers, as well as increase our chance of living a longer life. Eating right is also good for the memory. Fighting off disease is easier with good nutrition, and having the energy and strength that come from healthy eating makes it easier to be more fit overall. When we feel good from the inside, we look and perform better on the outside.
How can we eat more nutritiously? myRegence.com helps Regence members learn about health care and lifestyle options. Tips on healthy eating are found in the Fitness and Nutrition section. Members can watch how Chef Tse prepares healthy recipes, read about vitamins, or ask questions in the Ask the Nutritionist forum.
In addition to myRegence.com, members may have access to a number of other programs, such as Regence Health Coach®, CareEnhance® and Regence Advantages. All of these can be strong allies in the journey to good health. Your Regence Sales contact can help explain these valuable programs.
If you have any questions, please talk to your Regence sales contact.
