Letter from Chris Gorey
A new year brings about reflection and renewal. As I look back on my first full year with Regence, I'm amazed by what a year it's been! Last year was full of change for all of us. In turbulent times, clarity of purpose, ingenuity and optimism all play a significant role in defining the future. Regence, as an organization, is proud to trace its roots back to 1917 in Pierce County, Wash. That was where a novel collaboration among loggers and physicians who were committed to mutual purpose delivered financial and health security to the local community. Today we all share a mutual purpose to reduce health care costs, drive accountability in health care utilization and services delivery, and ultimately deploy a sustainable health care system for all Washingtonians. Such transformation will require the same courage in challenging our norms and invigorating business-model innovation that launched our organization and remains a cornerstone of our evolution.
Our corporate heritage remains an important part of who we are today and why we're looking forward to what the future holds for our industry and our company. The need has never been greater for new solutions to protect the health, well-being and financial security of our members. We're committed to bringing new solutions to the market — solutions that affirm the value of Regence membership and strengthen the Regence community.
This year will bring new products, tools and programs — all designed to address new market dynamics and differentiate the value of Regence membership. We look forward to introducing you to these offerings and evolving the way we work together to support our mutual customers.
As always, I welcome your comments and look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Chris Gorey
