08/22/2011   Medicare Advantage and Part D rates and certification available for 2012

In order to receive commissions for 2012 Regence MedAdvantage (PPO) and Part D plans, you must recertify on these products once a year.

To comply with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, we're requiring that producers be certified by Sept. 30, 2011, to sell 2012 Regence MedAdvantage and Part D plans.

You can attend an in-person certification class or complete the training online.

Please note that we've improved this year's online training based on your feedback. For example, the training has been divided into several modules to allow you to take as much or as little of the training at a time to accommodate your schedule. You also have the ability to upload any Core Training certification that you may have taken previously (such as AHIP). There are several other enhanced features as well.

This year certification training includes a Medicare Compliance and Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) module as required by CMS for First Tier, Downstream and Related Entities (FDRs). This training is required on an annual basis.

An informative User Guide is also being provided to get you started, with easy-to-follow instructions on navigating through the training modules and exams. Your continued partnership is appreciated. Have a great, successful season!

Here are some important dates to remember; note that the dates have changed this year:

Oct. 1—Kick-off for Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
This is the first day you can discuss 2012 benefits and premiums. You must be certified before you have discussions with clients or prospects.

Oct. 15—The first day that you may solicit or accept applications
We can't accept applications submitted prior to this date.

Dec. 7—The last day of AEP for coverage effective Jan. 1, 2012

We hope you're as excited as we are for this year's AEP and the 2012 Medicare benefit year; we think you will be pleased with our 2012 rates for Regence MedAdvantage. Thank you for making time for this valuable certification opportunity.
