Group-size certifications now going out 150 days in advance
In November we told you about the state law that requires us to certify a group's size once a year in order to determine its coverage options. To comply with the law, we re-instituted our annual certification process late last year.
Starting this month, however, we'll mail annual certification letters and forms to groups of 1 to 99 employees 150 days before their renewal date. We're asking groups to return the completed forms to us within 14 days. We won't be able to provide renewal rates until the group returns the completed certification. In an effort to ensure a timely renewal process, we'll follow up with letters to groups that haven't returned the paperwork within 30 days, with a copy to you.
Our first mailing with the 150-day lead time goes out this month to groups with a Sept. 1, 2011, renewal date.
