Regence earns national and state awards for worksite wellness
The Wellness Councils of America (WELCOA) recently presented Regence with a gold rating for our employee wellness program. The Well Workplace honor recognizes the employee wellness program in all four Regence states (Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington). We're one of the few companies in the entire western United States to receive WELCOA recognition this year, and one of the largest to be honored. Well Workplace awards recognize excellence in wellness programs among America's healthiest companies, and honors employers who fully embrace responsibility for maximizing the health and well-being of employees. WELCOA's designation indicates companies where employee wellness is part of the fabric and overall business strategy.
Meanwhile, Regence BlueShield was one of two Washington organizations that received the 2010 Healthy Worksite Summit's Golden Apple Award for our workplace wellness program. This award recognizes groups and/or individuals who provide an organized physical fitness or health promotion program at the worksite for employees and their families. The Healthy Worksite Summit is a collaborative effort by the Association of Washington Cities, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and the University of Washington Health Promotion Research Center.
