"Premium holiday" communication
I would like to take this opportunity to clarify some possible misperceptions caused by an irresponsible communication being widely circulated by Total Benefit Solutions that presents incorrect information about Regence's "premium holiday" option.
Regence has served the Washington community for 92 years, and we take pride in the reputation we have built by serving the health benefits needs of our 20,000 employer groups across the state. We understand the cost pressures that businesses are facing in the current economy, and we developed the "premium holiday" option as a new funding option to help businesses provide their employees with a competitive benefit package in these toughest of economic times.
Our products, including the "premium holiday" option, are filed with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC). The "premium holiday" is neither a rebate nor inducement because it is fully described in each contract for groups that choose the option as required under Washington law.
The business-friendly "premium holiday" option has been well received in the marketplace, and we encourage you to consider this funding solution for your clients if you have not already done so.
If you have any questions, please talk to your Regence sales representative or contact me directly.
Thank you for your continued support in serving the benefits needs of our Washington business community and consumers.
