Clearing your cache may help your Agent Center experience
Your Web browser stores elements of website pages in a cache so that they don't have to be downloaded each time you visit; which makes your browsing faster. These elements might include graphics, pages you've already viewed, or style sheets related to the design of the page. In some casessuch as when Agent Center is updatedyou may not be able to view the updates because you're actually viewing the cache.
There are two ways to solve this issue. The first way is a one-time reload of the current page, called a hard refresh. This will bypass any cached files and display the Web page as it currently appears on the server. Perform a hard refresh (clear your cached version of the page you're on) by:
- Pressing the Refresh button, or the F5 key
- Pressing the command key for your operating system, such as the Apple key or the Control key, and the letter "R".
The second way involves more steps but removes all temporary internet files called clearing the cache (which is a good practice with any regular Web browsing). In your browser's options menu, there's usually a tab for clearing all of the cache. You can set the size of the cache as well as clear it out. Clearing the cache will remove all of the older saved versions of websites you visit, which means that the entire page will have to be freshly downloaded the next time you visit it. Clearing the cache is more time-consuming than a hard refresh, and needs to be done only periodically. But it can be beneficial if you're having difficulty with your browser. Since there are many browsers out there, we will show the most common, Internet Explorer 7.0. Your browser may look different, but all browsers have the capability to clear cache. Perform a clearing of your IE7 browser's cache by:
- Selecting "Tools" menu at the top of any page
- Choose "Internet Options"
- Click the "General" tab
- Press "Delete" to delete temporary internet files
