08/06/2010   October renewals and changes to Agent Center for groups of 1 to 99

We are in discussions with the OIC to gain approval for our October rates. Be assured we will work closely with you to facilitate renewals once rates are released.

We also want to make you aware of quoting functionality changes you will notice in Agent Center once you have access to the system. The changes were made to support upgrades to our quoting system. For quoting new and renewing groups beginning with Oct. 1, 2010 effective dates, refer to the following points:

  • When quoting prospective groups, you are now required to answer a question about whether the effective date is on or after Oct. 1, 2010. If you're working on quotes prior to October effective dates, simply choose "No." To quote October effective dates and beyond, please answer "Yes." Quotes with effective dates of Sept. 1, 2010, cannot be copied to an effective date of Oct. 1, 2010, or later. A new quote will need to be created.
  • We've disabled the automated distribution of the Most Popular benefit functionality. You can now request benefit alternatives through Agent Center by following these steps.

  • Renewal rates for groups of 51-99 will now be published to Agent Center. Please note that you may not copy the quote for a dual-option; you'll still need to request the quote in-house. Instead, Sales will email quotes for groups with existing dual-option plans.

  • A new "Update Packages" button has been added to the Product Selection page. You can remove benefit packages from a quote by removing the checkmark from a benefit package and then clicking this button. You can also still remove the checkmark from a benefit package and navigate to the next page to remove the package.
  • New links to "Clear All" and "Select All" have been added to the detailed Product Selection pages.

  • The Product Comparison Tool (My Comparisons link within Agent Center) will be unavailable after Oct. 1, 2010, for both prospective and renewing groups. A note is being added to the Product Comparison Tool as a reminder. Usage studies indicate that producers are not widely using the Tool as a quoting resource. We are evaluating whether we will provide this resource in the future.
