Changes on transplants accruing toward lifetime max
The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) has interpreted SB 5725 to mean health plans cannot apply to the member's lifetime maximum any costs that also apply to the transplant lifetime maximum.
As a result, effective July 1, 2010, for renewals and new sales for all size groups on Innova®, Engage®, ActivateSM, Regence HSA Healthplan 2.0SM the $350,000 lifetime limit on transplant services and supplies no longer applies toward the overall $2,000,000 lifetime maximum for the plan. This change will be effective April 1, 2010, for the Regence Preferred Plan (available only to groups of 100+).
If you have any questions, please talk to your Regence Sales contact.
