Letter from Jonathan Hensley
Regence is a community of members, providers and professionals who are helping each other pursue wellness and find support in times of need.
We've been here for members for more than 90 years. But our vision of health care does not stop with our members. We want to share information, knowledge, solutions and support with everyone in our community.
At Regence we know that health and wellness are never just about the individual. Our entire community is better when we share because together we can transform the system for everyone. With the current debate on health care reform, many of us feel like we could use a glossary of health care terms. With so many different ideas about such a complex issue, it's no wonder that confusion exists.
To help understand some terminology, MSNBC has launched a guide that may help.
And for answers to frequently asked questions—such as: "Why is there a debate over a public plan?", "What is a health insurance co-op?" and "Who are the uninsured?"—visit The New York Times Prescriptions blog.
For additional resources or to take action, visit myRegence.com and our Issues & Action Center. The Issues and Action Center highlights current health care reform topics and allows individuals to understand the facts and take action.
At Regence we believe health insurance is, by its very nature, a community promise to be there when the need is great. Now our collective need is to create a system of affordable, high quality health care for everyone. Our commitment to solve the health care crisis is as serious as the issues themselves. Please join us as we decode and understand the challenges of the current health care system.
