Treatment Cost Estimator helps members understand care
When facing the possibility of a specific treatment for the first time—whether it's a tonsillectomy, a mammogram, a routine exam, or surgery to repair a torn ligament—many people can have a hard time understanding what they're getting into. How long does the procedure take? How much will it cost? How long will it take to recover?
We do know that it pays to be well-informed about every health care decision. That's why Regence has developed the Treatment Cost Estimator on myRegence.com, powered by the Regence Engine®, to help members get answers to these questions. In addition, the treatment estimate can be printed and shared with a physician in order to discuss treatment options and costs in more depth.
Know before you go:
Our goal is to provide as much information as possible in order to help members become better-informed health care consumers. With the Treatment Cost Estimator, members can:
- Understand care options for some of the most common types of routine exams, surgery and other treatments
- Get an idea of the average total cost of care, including the costs of different types of in-network care
- Determine the average time a treatment requires, from initial office visits to finishing a care plan
By getting a more complete picture of care choices, members can not only feel more confident about the decisions they make, they can feel secure that they're managing their health care dollars well.
Treatments included:
Topics are included in the Estimator based on what members search for most in myRegence.com's online Health & Rx Guide. We also looked at the non-emergency procedures and treatments that are most common among our members. The list of treatments will continue to grow, but for now it includes:
- Children's health
- Men's health
- Women's health
- Dental
- Ear, nose and throat
- Joint conditions: hand, hip, knee and shoulder
- Nerve conditions
- Urinary conditions
Please note: Medicare plan members will likely experience lower cost ranges than what our Estimator displays.
