07/30/2009   Message from Jonathan Hensley

It is with great pleasure and pride that I share with you the news that Scott Kreiling, vice president of Sales for Washington, has accepted the position of market president of Regence BlueShield of Idaho.

This change is effective mid-August, and Scott will be working with me and with the Washington leadership team to ensure a smooth transition. In the meantime, my goal is to fill the position of Sales vice president as quickly as possible.

Many of you know Scott personally and understand that he has played an integral role in our efforts to streamline and improve our sales processes and procedures, expand our market share, strengthen our relationships with our agent and broker community and enhance our outreach to the Latino community. I want to assure you that I remain steadfast in my commitment to preserving and enhancing the work that he has accomplished.

Through Scott's efforts he has gained the confidence and respect of a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, and while his move is a loss for the Washington market, it is a tremendous gain for the Regence family overall.

As I work to find a replacement for Scott, I am pleased to welcome a new member to our leadership team, an individual who will play an integral role in our business development efforts. Eric Pettigrew, who joined Regence earlier this week as the director of Community and Business Relations for Washington, is a member of the Washington Legislature serving the 37th district. His legislative, public service and insurance background equips him with the ideal mix of skills to help us strengthen our relationships with business and community groups.

I hope you will join me in thanking Scott for his tremendous efforts on behalf of our company and congratulating him on the next exciting and rewarding phase of his career. I will keep you apprised of our efforts as we move forward, and I invite you to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely

Jonathan Hensley
President
