With today's tough economic times we realize that it is important to offer a wide range of products to all members. That's why we are so pleased that our new Individual product, Regence NowSelectSM, has been well received. It offers three key benefit components up front, prior to satisfaction of the deductible: four up–front office visits, $400 in X–ray and lab benefits covered at 100% and $200 in preventive care services covered at 80%.

I wanted to take a moment to remind you about our cause. Regence BlueShield is committed to creating a better, more efficient health care system marked by individuals being more involved in their own wellness and making more informed decisions about their health care. Our cause, simply stated, is that we will transform health care, reducing the tyranny of waste, confusion and threats for our members and their families. We know that we can't transform health care alone.

We believe every community is better, stronger and healthier when people share information and resources. We further believe that one of the most important services we can provide to members is advice and navigation about how to best use their benefits and be better health care consumers.

I'd like to draw your attention to a few key topics described in this month's newsletter that are designed to further empower consumers.

  • GlobalFit is offering a special March promotion for Regence members who join a GlobalFit health club this month.
  • We're excited about the success of Regence HSA Healthplan 2.0SM, which is designed to empower members in making informed health care decisions.
