Letter from Scott Kreiling
Now that the election results are in there is one thing I can say with certainty: Change will be happening for the next few years. Regardless of your personal affiliations and beliefs, I hope you share my excitement with the turn-out at our nation's polling places. As a record number of American voters went to the polls, we were all reminded how much each one of our votes counts.
For those of you who attended our Broker Symposium this year, you might recall Regence Public Policy Director Nancy Ellison's remarks on how this year's election results could impact the health care system. As I reflect on Nancy's comments I am reminded that the answer does not lie in a single leader or legislator. The answer will be found only in all of us working together as a community.
In the coming months, we're sure to see a growing amount of pressure on our elected officials to do something about the broken health care system. Some of the proposals we will see are sure to be good for our members, while others will not be. Either way you can count on Regence to stay actively engaged with our local and national legislators and to continue our focus on driving costs down. We believe cost to be the fundamental underlying cause of the broken system; as such, driving costs down will help us arrive at long-term solutions.
Beginning Dec. 1 Agent Center will include the latest addition to our new product portfolio, Regence HSA Healthplan 2.0SM, for effective dates Jan. 1 and after.
The Regence HSA Healthplan 2.0 offers employers a combination of innovative health care coverage and the necessary tools and support they need to fully educate, engage and reward their employees in becoming responsible health care consumers.
On behalf of the Sales Team here at Regence I would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving holiday.
As always, please contact us if you have comments or questions.
Sincerely,
Scott Kreiling
Vice President, Sales
