Provider Search expanded to enhance member-provider communication
myRegence.com has expanded the Provider Search function to give members a way to review more information about their health care providers. This expansion gives medical personnel the opportunity to share more detailed information about themselves directly with Regence members.
Called "Enhanced Provider Profiles," this expansion supports the basis of transparency—giving members more information about their health care options and opens another channel of communication between members and providers.
Enhanced Provider Profiles
The expansion of the Provider Search function on myRegence.com provides the following information to Regence members:
- Appointment availability in provider office location(s)
- Electronic medical record capability in the medical office
- Awards and designations the provider has received
- Demographics of the office clientele (patient age/gender mix)
- Photo of provider or practice
- Area(s) of expertise
- Philosophy of care

Additional enhancements to the feature will begin in the first quarter of 2009 when Regence members will be able to use this same tool to search, sort, filter and compare providers.
