New member feedback feature debuts on myRegence.com
When people are looking for information about doctors and other providers, many of them turn first to family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Starting this spring, Regence's three million members can add the Regence community to that list of friendly reviewers.
In March 2008 a new survey-based resource on myRegence.com will allow members to post comments and ratings about the physicians, dentists and other health care professionals who provide their care—and then to view the feedback that others have posted. Providers whose patients complete the survey will have an opportunity to respond online.
The feedback feature will be launched in a two-step process. Regence members and guests will be able to view the numerical portion of survey results in early March. In April, the feature will expand to make comments accessible as well. Both elements are available to providers as part of a feature preview period that began earlier this month.
Why is such personal and anecdotal information valuable? In a study conducted among Regence members with the help of an independent research firm, 94% of respondents indicated that having access to information about other individuals' experiences was important to their health care decision-making.
That makes member feedback a natural part of Regence's effort to help members become fully engaged in their health care. The launch of the member feedback feature is one of many ways that Regence is working to develop and distribute information about cost, quality and patient experiences that members consider important when making value-based health care decisions.
If you have questions about member feedback or what else Regence is doing to help members become more engaged in their own care, please talk to your Regence Sales contact.
