Individual plan closure
We frequently evaluate our Individual plans to ensure that they provide the best value to our members in the face of rising medical costs and changing market conditions. As a result of recent evaluations, we are altering our Individual product portfolio: For effective dates of Oct. 1, 2008, and after, we will no longer offer the BreakthruSM 80 $500 plan.
We are making this change in order to remain competitive and to better position ourselves in Washington's dynamic Individual market. It will also allow us to stabilize our rates over time and help keep the Individual pool strong.
- While this product will no longer be offered to new applicants, members who are currently on the plan may remain enrolled.
- Applications that are already in process should continue through our customary process. If the application is accepted, the applicant should be enrolled in his or her plan selected on the application, even if it is a plan to be closed on Oct. 1.

- We will conduct active outreach to our agents regarding applications received after Aug. 20, 2008, so we can redirect applicants to other available options.
