10/29/2007   Individual plan rates adjusted effective January 1, 2008

While Regence Individual medical plan rates typically change once a year in July, rates may be adjusted at other times of the year due to legislative changes. Effective Jan. 1, 2008, Individual plan rates will change to reflect recent mandates, such as the mental health parity benefits and the catastrophic plan definition. (See related notices we posted in July and earlier this month.)

Beginning Nov. 1, Regence will reissue all Individual policyholders new contracts effective Jan. 1, 2008, to comply with the Office of Insurance Commissioner's 18-month contract re-issuance requirement. With the contract renewal, each member will be notified of updates on the legislative changes as well as new rate information. Please see the sample member letter and rate sheet for your information.

In addition to the medical contract re-issuance and rate change, Regence DentalOne plans are renewing effective Jan. 1, 2008. DentalOne members will receive letters and contracts and the rate information beginning Nov. 1 as well.
